In the 90’s local authorities could no longer finance housing and the housing associations had to be persuaded to support people building for themselves.

A secondary housing co-op, CHISEL, was set up to continue to support self-build in the borough, this time for co-operative rent.

This included 3 developments for a black housing co-op.

Jon acted in a number of roles when a Director at Architype on these projects from inception to resident design workshops, technical design and self-build training.
